#425  Pyrotechnics also known as Farmer's Fancy
32" x 32"
This is an unusual design that surfaced during the
West Virginia Documentation Project. It's an exciting
and explosive design - a 12 point rosette surrounded by
three rings of triangles. Paper piecing techniques are
used to construct the triangle rings and faced appliqué
is used to construct the center motif. Instructions for
one, two and three ring options, as well as border
treatments, are included.
#428  Sunburst
18" x 18"
This block was inspired by a quilt documented during
the West Virginia Heritage Quilt Search; it now resides
at the Pearl S. Buck Birthplace in Hillsboro, WV. It
resembles Dresden Plate but has accent shapes
inserted between the spokes. Strip piecing and freezer
paper templates aid in construction.
#401 Celtic Appliqué by Machine
18" x 18" or 18" x 40"
Learn the basics of Celtic interlace appliqué by
constructing this versatile block. The project
incorporates bias preparation, bias placement
and machine sewing techniques.  The basic 12"
block can be finished as a pillow or framed with
a simple Celtic border to make a wall hanging or
table runner.
